Literacy Network (3-Part Series)

Join like-minded literacy professionals for a three-part professional development series as we explore hot topics in the world of education and literacy!  This 3 Part Series will focus on building strong literacy practices. Each session will explore key strategies to support reading and writing in the classroom. We’ll cover topics like effective instruction, student engagement, assessment, and using data to guide teaching.

Teach Like a Champion: A Three Part Series

This 3-Part interactive workshop dives into Doug Lemov’s Teach Like a Champion 3.0, offering educators an opportunity to explore and apply techniques that will help you with student engagement, learning outcomes, and classroom management.

We will participate in hands-on activities, enjoy discussions, and watch videos that will teach you strategies for checking understanding, motivating students, raising expectations, and creating classrooms where students write regularly.

This workshop series is ideal for teachers eager to refine their craft and champion positive, productive learning environments.  Veteran teachers will be reminded of strategies that have worked for them in the past and newer educators will build a toolbox of classroom skills that will serve them well their entire careers.

Participants will receive a complimentary copy of Teach Like a Champion 3.0 with their registration.

Southwest Wisconsin Technical College Substitute Teacher Training

This free workshop will provide the required training to qualify to be a short-term substitute teacher in the state of Wisconsin.  All current SWTC students and staff are welcome to attend. Brad Van Epps will prepare you for the license application process while training you in classroom management, instructional strategies, practical tips, and much, much more.

Substitute teachers in Wisconsin must have the minimum of an associate degree in addition to this training to apply for a license, but the training can be taken as you finish your degree, and you can apply as soon as you graduate from your program.

* Any non-SWTC student or non-SWTC staff registering should make arrangements with CESA 3 to pay $100 for the training.
