School Improvement Framework Academy

Ready to move beyond identifying what’s not working? Join CESA 3’s Lisa Arneson and Matt Renwick for a two-day hands-on academy designed for district leadership teams who are ready to focus on the fix.

Through a structured, collaborative process, teams will engage in:

DAY 1

  • A comprehensive needs assessment to pinpoint critical student outcomes
  • Root cause analysis to examine adult practices, policies, and underlying conditions
  • The beginning stages of improvement planning that connects directly to student needs

DAY 2

  • Wisconsin Multi-Level System of Supports (WiMLSS) Framework training for teams to dig into their systems of supports and identify areas that are/aren’t effective for all students

In addition to ample collaboration time, teams will leave with practical templates, tools, and protocols they can use immediately in their own settings.

NET Flipped Training for CESA 6 Evaluation Model

Are you a new evaluator in The CESA 6 Effectiveness Project? This training is for you!

On October 16th, you can join other evaluators for a NET Flipped Training for the EP Evaluation System. Complete the NET training before October 16th and join our group to discuss your questions about evaluating and go deeper on the concepts you learned during the online module. This will be a great opportunity to meet other new leaders that are also preparing to help teachers grow for the students in their building.

EP Recertification Spring 2026

Does your school use the CESA 6 Effectiveness Project to evaluate teachers? If so, this training is to prepare one person from your district to lead all evaluators through the recertification experience that takes place each semester. This training would also be beneficial if you are the only evaluator in your building for a collaborative experience with other evaluators from our region.

The recertification facilitation for the Effectiveness Project evaluation system in Wisconsin offers a specialized program aimed at principals seeking certification in evaluating teachers using the Dr. Stronge evaluation model. Through this recertification facilitation opportunity participants will be able to lead the experience in their own district with all evaluators. Participants will have what is needed to guide evaluators in collaboration around important topics for growing teachers for the students in your school.

All evaluators are to complete the recertification training each semester. Help your evaluators get the most out of the experience by going through the training with a CESA 3 EE Coordinator prior to completing the recertification with your colleagues in your district.

Leadership Coaching

Ellie Olson has been certified as a Professional Coach since November of 2016. Ellie’s training took place with The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) with a focus in executive coaching. She is also certified through the International Coaching Federation as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC). To be certified as a PCC a person must have completed an accredited coach training program and complete over 500 hours of paid coaching.

While working at CESA 6, Ellie supported Appleton Area School Districts Admin team, Manitowoc Public School District Admin team, School District of Hartford Jt. 1 Admin Team, and Hortonville MS teachers on plans of improvement. Over the last four years working at CESA 3, Ellie has supported many districts with leadership coaching and networking. Along with the coach training, Ellie is starting her 26th year in education with experience as a math teacher, elementary principal, and middle school/high school principal.

This Service Includes:

  • Monthly Individual Coaching Sessions
  • ELI Assessment and Debrief
  • Learning about Energy Leadership
  • One Emergency Call Per Month

Why Coaching

Many successful CEOs of Fortune 500 companies have an executive coach. We would find it strange if professional athletes did not have a coach. Educational professionals can reach their peak performance by working with a leadership coach.

A professional coach forms a trusting relationship with a leader to help the leader grow in their position in a productive way. Professional coaching focuses on setting goals, creating outcomes and managing personal change by using the iPEC Successful Change Model which includes the following:

  • Assess Current Situation
  • Explore and Create options
  • Choose option
  • Create a plan
  • Perform
  • Look at results
  • Assess Current Situation and start process again

In the center of this change model is Engaged Energy. There are many variables that can impact engagement. Part of the coaching process is addressing those variables to reach our goals and have your visions come to fruition.

All leaders wish for more time in a day. Demands of the job often make it difficult to fully support a leader to reach their peak performance. We also know that leadership can be a lonely position and the more support a leader has, new to a position or not, is critical to their success. Leadership Coaching can assist with support and brings in a person from the outside that can be a sounding board for a leader to reach goals and meet expectations.

Energy Leadership Index Assessment would be used to assess what energy level is used by leaders in “normal” situations and then also what energy level is used when a person is in a “stressful” situation. Coaching will guide leaders to be able to choose what energy level is appropriate. This is a powerful tool that guides leaders to professional growth and awareness.

Some areas of focus:

  • Leadership Strengths and Gaps
  • Removing Barriers to Success
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Dynamic Communication
  • Influencing Others
  • Problem Solving
  • Productivity
  • High Energy Relationship
  • Health and Wellness
  • Energy Levels in Leadership
  • Time Management/Balance

Leaders will be contacted by Ellie Olson to set up the first coaching session in August.

Getting Things Done for Educators

Book cover: Getting Things Done by David AllenWhat would you do with an extra 40 minutes a day?

40 minutes is what the employees of one organization gained on average after implementing the Getting Things Done methodology.

  • Date: October 7-9, 2025
  • Time: 8:30 – 11:30am each day
  • Location: Virtual (Zoom)

Over the course of three half-day virtual sessions, you will:

  • discover how personal productivity can translate into less stress,
  • learn how to maximize more available time during the day, and
  • leverage this system to positively influence teaching and learning.

These skills can benefit everyone. Research shows that when just one or two team members make even small fumbles (missed deadlines, working on the wrong priorities, or forgetting tasks), team productivity is cut by an average of 24%.

On the other hand, teams that have a shared process for managing workflow foster trust, engagement, and efficient execution.

Join us for a highly engaging learning experience, all from your computer during the work day.

Objectives: By the end of this experience, you will be able to:

  • Use the methodology to achieve the ideal productive state.
  • Capture everything in and out of your head.
  • Direct your inputs to a few chosen capture tools.
  • Decide what your stuff means to you.
  • Identify next actions to get moving and overcome procrastination.
  • Process the items in your inboxes regularly and effectively to avoid fatigue and backlog.
  • Utilize your calendar more effectively to free up more time.
  • Optimize your lists to transform the way you work.
  • Use your system to take appropriate action with confidence.
  • Say no with integrity.
  • Review your system weekly so it’s always current.
  • Make key connections between short-term tasks and longer-term goals.

Common Questions:

“I don’t have time for this training.”

The fact that you feel you don’t have time for this training should tell you that you need this training even more.

“This training is too expensive.”

How much is your time worth per hour? Even if you only recapture one hour per week from this training, the cost recovery will happen quickly.

“I’ve tried similar approaches – they didn’t work.”

In addition to the trainings, participants will have access to three follow-up productivity labs for group coaching and support during the school year.

“I’m not sure this is right for me.”

This training was provided last year for all CESA coaches and consultants. We experienced an 82% improvement in keeping our email inboxes at zero or single digits, as well as having a trusted system and place for important messages.

– Lauretta Pickel, Director of Business Services, Weston School District
