Cost: $349 per person (Safe and Healthy Schools Members save $100 per person!)
What Are Restorative Practices?
Restorative practices are a proactive approach to building strong relationships, fostering community, and repairing harm through inclusive dialogue. Rooted in respect, accountability, and empathy, restorative practices aim to create safe, supportive, and connected learning environments for students and staff. This relational approach strengthens school climate, reduces disciplinary referrals, and improves academic and social outcomes.
Training Highlights:
Over the course of two days, participants will:
- Explore the fundamental theory and science behind restorative practices.
- Learn how to use affective statements and restorative questions to foster connection and accountability.
- Practice facilitating informal and formal restorative circles.
- Understand how to respond to conflict and harm using restorative conferences.
- Develop strategies for embedding restorative practices into existing school structures and systems.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan for school-wide implementation and sustainability.
This training is ideal for all school personnel—teachers, counselors, administrators, support staff, and district leaders—who are committed to building inclusive school communities where everyone feels valued, heard, and respected. Whether your school is just beginning its restorative journey or looking to deepen existing efforts, this training will provide the tools and mindset to move forward together.
