Join us for an essential workshop designed to demystify Wisconsin’s Multilevel Systems of Support – Behavior (WiMLSS-B/PBIS) and equip K-12 educators with the knowledge to implement this powerful framework effectively.
Moving beyond common misconceptions, this session will provide concrete, evidence-based information on what WiMLSS-B/PBIS is and how it effectively supports each and every student’s academic, social, emotional, and behavioral success.
- Date: Thursday, February 12, 2026
- Time: 1:00 – 3:00pm
- Location: CESA #3, Room A (The Barn)
Session Outcomes:
- Clearing Up Misconceptions
- Building Understanding
This overview will dive deep into how WiMLSS-B/PBIS acts as a framework for creating safe, positive, and equitable schools where every student feels valued and connected. You will learn:
- The Core Framework: Understand WiMLSS-B/PBIS as a system for implementing evidence-based practices that engage the school community—students, families, and staff—to co-create a locally-meaningful and culturally-relevant school culture.
- A Healthier School Climate: Discover how WiMLSS-B/PBIS implementation leads to more positive perceptions of school climate among teachers, students, and their families.
- Increased Engagement and Instruction: Learn strategies to establish clear, school-wide expectations that result in students spending more time in class and being more engaged in instruction.
- Student Empowerment: Explore how defining and teaching positive expectations like ‘respectful’ and ‘kind’ empowers students, leading to lower levels of unwanted behaviors (like bullying, illegal drug, and alcohol use) and higher levels of prosocial behaviors and emotion regulation.
- Equity-Centered Practice: See the rigorous research showing that specifically centering equity within WiMLSS-B/PBIS can significantly decrease racial disparities in discipline practices and overall office discipline referral rates.
- Support for Staff: Understand how the safe, predictable, and consistent environment created by WiMLSS-B/PBIS reduces teacher burnout, leading to staff feeling less emotionally exhausted and more capable in their roles.
- Systemic Improvement: Learn how the WiMLSS-B/PBIS framework provides a natural, data-driven system for selecting, implementing, and sustaining all evidence-based practices, making schools up to three times more likely to sustain their initiatives.
This workshop will provide the necessary foundation to clarify your understanding of WiMLSS-B/PBIS and show you how to leverage its proven methods to build a consistent, positive, and supportive environment for all students in your K-12 setting.
