In rural schools, we are experts at “wearing many hats,” but often our systems can feel like a collection of separate initiatives rather than a single, powerful engine. This one-day training is designed to help school and district teams use the Wisconsin Multi-Level System of Supports (WiMLSS) framework as a tool for alignment and coherence. Attendees unlock free coaching once they have completed the training.
Instead of seeing reading, math, and behavior as separate “silos,” we will use the WiMLSS Key Features—such as Systemic Implementation and Strong Shared Leadership—to organize your existing practices into one effective structure.
By streamlining your system, you can more effectively close the opportunity gaps for historically marginalized communities while maximizing the impact of your current staff and resources.
What We Will Do Together:
-
Inventory & Integrate: Map your current school initiatives (e.g., Title I, PBIS, New Literacy Legislation) onto the WiMLSS framework to identify overlaps and fill critical gaps.
-
Increase Commitment: Focus on how shifting your organization’s shared beliefs can reduce the tendency to simply “refer to interventionist” when a student struggles.
-
Data with Purpose: Shift from simply “collecting data” to being strategic with data andmake real-time adjustments that support your most vulnerable learners.
-
Build Sustainability: Develop a shared leadership plan that ensures your system remains robust despite the staffing shifts common in rural settings.
Who Should Attend: School and District Leadership Teams, including administrators, general education teachers, and special education staff, who are ready to move from “doing more” to “working together.”
