The Anxious Generation (Three-Part Series) – Repeat!

Due to high interest, we have decided to offer another round of this book study this summer!!

Join us for The Anxious Generation, a FREE, three-part series exploring Jonathan Haidt’s book and research on the rise of students’ anxiety and mental health concerns, along with discussion around “the great rewiring” of students’ brains. Participants will discover how more restricted play and increased screen time has influenced student well-being and learning, and discuss ways to take collective action.

While reading the book alongside our discussions is encouraged, it is not required– you are welcomed to join either way!

FREE for CESA 3 School’s Staff!  Non-CESA 3 School’s Participants: only $75.

Safe and Healthy Schools Members and Project AWARE schools registered by May 27, 2025 will receive a copy of the book for FREE!

Strive for Five

In this workshop, participants will explore the powerful “Strive-for-Five” framework—a research-based approach to fostering rich, responsive conversations that strengthen young children’s language and thinking skills. Rooted in the science of reading, this framework helps teachers build on what children say through five-turn exchanges that promote deeper communication, vocabulary development, reasoning, and comprehension. Through practical and authentic examples, educators will learn how to effectively use Strive-for-Five conversations to support reading success and nurture confident, expressive learners.

Morpheme Magic (4th-12th grade)

Dive into the power of words with a hands-on workshop centered around Morpheme Magic—a resource designed to build morphological awareness through systematic and explicit instruction. Teachers will explore engaging lessons and activities focused on prefixes, suffixes, roots, and Greek combining forms, all grounded in research on how students develop deep word knowledge. With 53 ready-to-use lessons and a consistent instructional routine, this workshop will equip educators with tools to enhance advanced word study, spark curiosity, and foster a genuine love of words in their classrooms.

Spend the afternoon planning to implement strategies within your own classroom with guided support and coaching. You are invited to bring your own curriculum resources to assist in this process.

Participants will get a copy of the book: Morpheme Magic by Deb Glaser

Morphemes for Little Ones (K-3rd Grade)

Join us for a workshop featuring Morphemes for Little Ones™ by Deb Glaser, designed to help educators bring morphological awareness to life in K–3 classrooms. This resource offers structured, systematic literacy lessons that make the foundational building blocks of words—prefixes, suffixes, and roots—accessible and engaging for young learners. Participants will explore developmentally appropriate strategies to integrate morphology into daily instruction, supporting vocabulary growth, reading comprehension, and a deeper understanding of how words work.

Spend the afternoon planning to implement strategies within your own classroom with guided support and coaching. You are invited to bring your own curriculum resources to assist in this process.

Participants will get a copy of the book: Morphemes for Little Ones by Deb Glaser

The Literacy 50 (Melissa and Lori)

Join us for this event inspired by Melissa Loftus and Lori Sappington’s book The Literacy 50, written by the hosts of the Melissa & Lori Love Literacy podcast. During our time together, we will engage in a question and answer format where we will explore the real questions teachers are asking about how children learn to read—and the evidence-based answers that bring clarity and confidence to literacy instruction.

Each participant will receive a copy of the book The Literacy 50.

School Improvement Framework Academy (w/ JFN Lens)

Join us at CESA 3 on June 30 and July 1!

This two day event takes leadership teams through multiple data points to examine four key indicators that are most often associated with improved student outcomes.  Nationally, when teams make improvement goals, they relate to:

  • Student Achievement
  • Postsecondary Readiness
  • Safety, Engagement & Well-being
  • Community Support/Family Engagement

Day 1: CESA 3 staff will lead teams through the analysis of multiple data elements to determine the current state of these systems and then dig into root causes that are contributing to low outcomes.

We are planning for DPI staff to be on hand to support federally identified districts, and our expectation is for teams to leave with the planning and documentation necessary to move forward towards meaningful change and DPI compliance for LEA Determinations.

Day 2: Teams will participate in the Wisconsin Multi-level System of Support (WiMLSS) Project framework training to delve into the system they identified needs further improvement.  Participation in day to gives teams access to partnership with a systems coach to support ongoing improvement work in your district.
