Expanding Career Pathways. Creating Opportunities for Every Student.

Every student deserves the opportunity to explore careers that align with their interests, strengths, and goals – not traditional expectations about who belongs in a particular field.

CTE Educators and CTE Leadership are invited to join the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction at CESA 3 for the Non-Traditional Occupations (NTO) Roadshow, a statewide professional learning opportunity designed to help CTE educators and leaders expand career exploration opportunities and strengthen access to career pathways for all students.

Through engaging discussions, data exploration, and practical resources, participants will gain strategies to support students in discovering career possibilities beyond traditional expectations.

What You’ll Learn

  • DPI CTE team will present Non-Traditional Occupations (NTO) by cluster: individuals from one gender comprising less than 25 percent of the individuals employed in occupations by cluster.
  • Participants will learn NTO definitions, reflect on equity and access, analyze data, understand root cause, discuss best practices and receive resources to use with their CTE team.
  • Additional topics: Modernized career clusters, Perkins V performance indicator 4S1, multi-levels systems of support within CTE and institutional responsibilities and practices.
  • Participants will leave with practical resources, fresh perspectives, and strategies to share with their CTE teams.
