Created and piloted by a former school psychologist in collaboration with a former teacher, the Family-School Partnership is a family-based learning program run by four school staff to support the social and emotional development of children through engaging in conversations around topics such as connect & redirect, co-regulation, and play. The goal of the program is to promote continuity of strategies across home and school settings. Many teachers have attended workshops aligned with the No-Drama Discipline and 1-2-3 RESET principles, which will be highlighted in this partnership. The partnership includes three pre-planned evenings for school staff and interested families to engage in, along with a Google Drive to access all the needed materials. An outline of an evening includes:
-
- Community Builder
- Family Activity
- Family Meal
- Adult Learning Session & Child Play Session
- Adult & Child Connection Time
- Closure
While four school staff members will be implementing the program, only two must attend this training (but all four are welcome).
