This training includes the Keys to Beginning Reading asynchronous course and training manual ($360 value). Additionally, educators will have virtual check-ins to debrief, extend, and reflect on course content.

In this individual training format, participants will get 1:1 virtual check-ins for rich conversations to debrief, extend, and reflect to translate research into practice.
This practical course provides the background knowledge needed to teach all the components of beginning reading instruction. The instructional practices are designed to easily transfer to classroom lessons and can be integrated with any reading curriculum or published reading program.
This asynchronous course is broken into 11 asynchronous modules:
- Module 1: Literacy Basics
- Module 2: Oral Language
- Module 3: Phonemic Awareness
- Module 4: Phonics & Advanced Word Study
- Module 5: Fluency
- Module 6: Vocabulary
- Module 7: Sentence Structure
- Module 8: Text Structure
- Module 9: Comprehension
- Module 10: Reading Difficulties
- Module 11: Reading Assessment
Who is this training beneficial for?
Any educator who teaches reading. While the content is designed for K-3 educators, educators outside of these grade levels may also find this training to be beneficial. Title funds may be utilized for staff outside of K-3.
Does this meet the Act 20 requirement?
This training meets the K-3 professional development Act 20 requirement, as this training is found on the CERI (Center for Effective Reading Instruction) IDA-approved list.
